I invite you to join us, April 3rd for the Me Too: Community Consent Circle. This is a safe and confidential space where you can come to be energetically held and witnessed as you share your own experiences with sexual assault and broken boundaries or to simply be there as support. We dive deep into the topic of consent and learn how to find our voice, empowerment and authentic yes and no in a loving and respectful environment. Nothing is off limits as long as it is in the realm of consent and what is shared in this space, stays in this space.
This week we will be gifted with a puppet show on consent performed by Mickey Kruser, One of the Space holders for People’s Mic, Wednesday Nights at the wellsprings. He has put together a heartfelt, humorous and thought-provoking piece on the topic of consent and intimacy. We will also be doing a bit of role-playing around the energy of consent.
This space is open to all races and genders and no one will be turned away. As always it is my hope that you honor your boundaries in this space and only share or participate in the parts that feel safe for you.
The Me Too: Community Consent Circle is based on bringing the #Metoo movement off of the internet and into the community.
In 2006, Tarana Burke founded the me too movement to help survivors of sexual violence, particularly young women of color from low wealth communities, find pathways to healing. Using the idea of “empowerment through empathy,” the me too movement was ultimately created to ensure survivors know they're not alone in their journey.you can learn more about the movement and donate to the cause at https://metoomvmt.org/
