He has been performing for several years as an acoustic guitar soloist in the Tri State area, and now even further out of state. Besides performing as a solo acoustic guitarist, Victor also performs solo with an accompanying percussionist, and with his trio ensemble made up of acoustic guitar, percussion, and bass.
Victor Tarassov enhances the mood and creates a great ambiance with his signature Spanish Latin acoustic guitar.
One of the things that Victor loves to do is “Just Play”. A few years ago Victor was at an Ottmar Liebert solo concert on April, 23 2006 in Redwood City CA. Ottmar was taking questions and Victor asked him about song writing and how to come up with ideas, he said “turn off the editor and just play”. That answer has stayed with Victor. One of the things that Victor does
now or tries to do in life is “Just Play”. Whether he's working on a piece of music or performing it, or when working with people Victor just shares from deep within his heart. There is something very vulnerable and beautiful about our lives when we just play. It's like when a child creates a piece of art for their parents, they just play. I would like to think that what I am doing is just playing for my Creator and that I am bringing joy to my Creator who is watching me and smiling. I am 52 now and it has taken that long to learn how to just play. The above shows a picture of my guitar which is a Lester DeVoe Flamenco Negra Madagascar Rosewood guitar 2008. For me it's a dream come true to have such a great guitar. It has taken a long time to get one. However for me when I do play the guitar, I can create and express what's inside and share it with others. I hope to share with you how I “Just Play”. Mid 2014-2015 was a difficult time with undiagnosed Asthma & Pneumonia that was recently brought under control. Victor is hoping that 2018 will be the year when I really start to "Just Play" I hope to share with you sometime soon the music I have been working on.
