Details on the concepts day-wise:

Day 1
Introduction to Science.
What is Science? The scientific method will be briefly explained. The benefits and dangers of Science will be discussed. Following objects of interest will be introduced: Lasers, Magnets, Centre of Gravity toys, Friction Wheel Car, Newton’s cradle etc.

Day 2
Magnetism
The strange behaviour of magnets will be studied, magnetic field lines will be visualised using iron filings and compass. There will also be a demonstration of magnetic levitation.

Day 3
Electrostatics
Static electricity will be discussed with the aid of several experiments. Plasma Ball and Van de Graaff generator will be the highlight. Includes a “hair raising experience” for all participants.

Day 4
Electrical circuit
A simple electrical circuit will be built and studied using a multimeter. The concepts of current and conservation of charge will be introduced. Electrical resistance will be discussed and how it plays a role in an electric bulb. Includes activities like graphite circuit making and pencil bulb.

Day 5
Fun with Chemistry
Several demonstrations of chemical reactions will be done- includes slime making. The properties and actions of acids and bases will also be safely shown. Highlights: Rainbow Burette, Whoosh Bottle and Elephant toothpaste.

Day 6
Optics
What is Light? What is it made of? Phenomena such as reflection and dispersion will be explored using mirrors and prisms. Advanced topics in optics will be broken down and demonstrated using lasers and Tyndall effect. Learn the difference between convex and concave mirrors. Understand the laws of reflection in an engaging manner.

Day 7
Gliders and Rocket
A fun-filled session where the parents along with the children build paper gliders and pneumatic rocket. Every participant will receive the materials needed to build an air-powered rocket launcher (Pneumatic Rocket).
