Social Gravity is an experiential Move-ment combing mindful conversation, meditation, yoga & dance hosted
by Stacy Hein, Founder of Tribe Yoga
& Michelle Gallagher, creator of Venus Rising Events.
"There's a sober curious movement coming to life & I want to support and encourage that," Michelle Gallagher notes. "I've also seen a deep need for people in recovery to have space in society that supports their work in a mindful yet fun manner."
Darragh Ingrassia and Lisa Vinciguerro, founders of Guardian Angel Recovery House in Hazelton will be hosting the discussion exploring how Sobriety can be a superpower.
Michelle Gallagher will teach a Kundalini Yoga addiction meditation.
Stay Hein will lead a short yoga practice to include grounding, mindful movement and breath work designed to balance the body and quiet the mind. "A regular yoga and meditation practice can be invaluable to the recovery process and/or to supporting a continued sober lifestyle," Stacy Hein adds. "The yoga community offers ample opportunities to connect with like-minded people outside of the party scene."
Similar social sober experiences are happening in New York City—like Club Soda. Social Gravity is the first purposefully; un-cocktailing, un-substance-ing event of it's kind in Carbon County.
A portion of the ticket sales will benefit Guardian Angel Recovery House which provides a clean, safe & structured environment for women to nurture and build a solid foundation of recovery. Their success includes teamwork, peer mentoring, and participation in 12 Steps, house rules, daily chores, employment & volunteer work that teaches accountability, responsibility and self-love.
Stacy and Michelle plan to take Social Gravity on the road and will host a second event on April 27th at Tribe Yoga in Fogelsville.
