Stepping or step-dancing is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps.
Ages 6-9 years 2pm-3pm
ages 10 plus 3:15pm-4:15pm
$25 per dancer RSVP and payment needed prior to event

Alonzo Jones – Is a resident of Providence RI and has instructed Step Dance classes and workshops at many schools in Providence and the surrounding area. He began at Roger Williams Middle School where he started the Red Storm Step Team taking the student to perform in and out of the state of RI for a number of years. He would go on to instruct Step Teams and perform workshops at various schools such as Bay View Academy, LaSalle Academy, Rosemary School of Dance, Dance Alliance RI, Hope High school, Mount Pleasant High School, Brown University and Rhode Island College are among the list.
Alonzo has been involved with Dance and Theater in Providence RI for over 25 years providing technical direction, scenic designs and lighting designs for numerous Theaters, Dance companies, independent productions and performances. Alonzo has been the lighting designer for Chance to Dance at PPAC for over 25 years and is currently the Technical Director/Set and lighting designer at Rites and Reason Theater at Brown University.
