March 31, 2018 – presents the second and final Blue Moon of the year. By popular acclaim, a Blue Moon is defined as the second of two full moons to occur in one calendar month. January had two full moons. Now March does, too.

Two Blue Moons in one year seem to belie the famous statement: Once in a Blue Moon. And in recent years – with more than one definition for Blue Moons – Blue Moons seem to happen pretty often. Yet it’s indeed quite rare to have two Blue Moons in a single calendar year. It last happened in 1999 and won’t happen again until 2037.

This Saturday also the Saturday before Easter Sunday holds many of its own beliefs. The day is traditionally a time of reflection and waiting.

Let us come together to reflect on our first 3 months of 2018 and to connect on what more is to come for the remainder of this year.

Be a reflection of what you would like to receive.
If you want to love, give love.
If you want truth, be truthful.
What you give out will always return.

We will warm up with a Simonson Dance Technique warm up and mindful movement that welcomes ALL LEVELS! We will allow ourselves the time to let go of any stress or tension throughout the mind, body and soul.

What is dance? It is the physical expression through movement and rhythm of relationships, feelings and ideas. Nobody invented dance. It is deep in the heart of every culture throughout history; dance is part of the pulse of humanity. It embraces multiple genres, styles and traditions and is constantly evolving. Its roles range from recreational to sacred and cover every form of social purpose.

What is Simonson Dance?
Simonson Technique, created and developed by master teacher Lynn Simonson, Is an organic approach to movement that prepares the body to dance in a way that is anatomically intelligent and somatically aware.

A TEACHER OF SIMONSON TECHNIQUE RECOGNIZES THAT EACH STUDENT IS UNIQUE AND OPERATES WITHIN INDIVIDUAL MUSCULOSKELETAL PARAMETERS. RATHER THAN ASK STUDENTS TO FIT A PRE-DESCRIBED IDEAL, THEY ARE GUIDED AND TAUGHT AS TO WHAT IS ANATOMICALLY CORRECT FOR THEIR BODIES. THROUGH BALANCED ALIGNMENT, DEEP STRETCHING, PROPER MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT, AND NATURAL RANGE OF MOTION THROUGH THE JOINTS, THE STUDENT LEARNS TO SELF REFERENCE A MOVEMENT THROUGH SENSORY AWARENESS AND HOW IT FEELS, NOT BY HOW IT LOOKS.
