About Your Speaker
Tamer is a holistic nutritionist, wellness speaker and documentary filmmaker.
Born in Cairo, Egypt and moving to Canada when he was 7, Tamer was encouraged by his two-time Olympian father to play Tennis where he learned all about discipline, practice and creating good habits. Years later, he uses these same habits with his own clients who are looking to live healthier lives.
After spending some time working at the Toronto Athletic Club, Tamer and his wife moved to the Cayman Islands where he practiced as a holistic nutritionist and volunteered at the Plantation Organics Garden. This experience allowed him to gain a deeper connection to the foods he ate and a true appreciation for what sustainability and organic farming really meant to both our health and environment.
While in the Cayman Islands, Tamer’s passion for connecting people to local foods and sustainability led to the production of his first documentary, Bright Spot, a short film about the history, demise and modern use of coconuts. This first documentary was quickly followed by his second, currently in post-production, on the importance of community wellbeing and how it affects our health.
After many travels around the world and working with a variety of different clients, his nutrition and culinary skills continue to grow. Tamer’s passion is teaching people about nutrition, healthy cooking and how to use diet and exercise to heal and optimize one’s whole body.
