Kateras Forest School is designed to help your child feel comfortable in the natural world. Activities will vary from week to week and will include gardening, plant identification, nature art and learning animal tracks.
This program will help your child develop enduring friendships with other children who share a love of being outside. Free time for playing and exploring will be mixed with structured activities that will help develop a connection to nature that your child can draw upon for years of future adventures.
Students will learn from direct experience with nature. We will learn about what lives in our forests and fields, gain comfort in the natural world and build confidence by exploring in a wilderness setting. Sticks, rocks, water and dirt are our tools and toys. Children are free to use what they find in nature to create their games, art and activities. Snacks and lunch will be picnic style by the creek.
