Facilitator Lisa Woodhouse, will be doing an introduction to the Emotional Freedom Technique, Tapping.

EFT helps people acknowledge their current state around an issue they want to improve. Lisa will describe and demonstrate how this technique can help release negative emotions around events, beliefs, physical pain, and psychological maladies. The results are a more balanced and peaceful day to day life with surprising changes in the way we respond to everyday events and those that have challenged us in the past.

About Lisa:
I grew up with undiagnosed PTSD after the sudden loss of my father at age 9. My brain would constantly plan, evaluate, judge and attempt to predict future scenarios in my head to protect me from what it feared most, that I was not safe in this world, regardless of whether it was an accurate assessment or not. The result of this unconscious behaviour led to my self-imposed isolation, depression, extreme self criticism and eventually physical illness in the form of a brain tumour in 2008.

Today, I am an expert in teaching people how to remain calm in the face of perceived threats. What are perceived threats? Anything your brain has determined over the course of several years, perhaps decades as something that will create a feeling of being unsafe, unloved or unwanted, without you being consciously aware of this decision. Some examples include: speaking in public; having a baby; starting a business; childhood trauma at all levels; speaking your truth.

Using a variety of modalities, specifically Emotional Freedom Techniques, I work very closely with clients to help them acknowledge their current state around an issue they want to improve and together we work towards releasing negative emotions around events, beliefs, physical pain, and psychological maladies. The results are a more balanced and peaceful day to day life with surprising changes in the way we respond to everyday events and those that have challenged us in the past.
