Too many people view poetry as something intimidating or inaccessible. In truth, poetry has likely played a more significant role in your life than you realize. Think of the Dr. Seuss books you loved as a child or the song lyrics that you belt out when you are alone in the car. Poetry is for everyone.

In honor of National Poetry Month, Helen Rousseau will present Befriending Poetry on Monday, April 30 at 6:00. She will talk about the positive influence that poetry has had on her life and describe how it can be that same positive influence for all of us. Rousseau will also discuss her book Coming to the Edge: Fifty Poems for Writing and Healing.
