Experience an immersive journey through night-time waltzes.
Aurora Orchestra's principal pianist John Reid and artist William Lindley explore the contrasting and evocative moods of the nocturnal – moods that blur the senses, conjure distant memories, and merge conscious and unconscious states together.
For this intimate multimedia performance, we invite you to lie down and be completely enveloped in the music alongside projected illustrations commissioned for the event. Music that includes Ravel’s tour de force 'La Valse' seamlessly unfolds through the night, journeying from the magically hypnotic to the intensely engulfing to the spiritually redemptive.
Doors open – 9.15pm
Music begins – 9.30pm
This immersive event is produced to be experienced at floor level with comfortable floor matting and cushions for audience members to sit, recline, or lie down. There will be a limited number of seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is also intended to be experienced without any prior knowledge of the full music programme, which will be revealed at the end of the night.
Aurora Orchestra's Lock-In series at Kings Place:
As the lights go down in Hall One, we move across to Hall Two to grab a drink and settle in for a revelatory late-night series. Curated by Aurora Principal Players, each intimate and informal performance takes you on a journey of musical discovery across diverse genres and art forms. Expect eclectic musical encounters that unfold in new and surprising ways, from entering otherworldly dimensions in electronic music to learning the steps to a rip-roaring hoedown to meeting a pterodactyl in the most unlikely of circumstances.
