UNIT 115 Exhibition Opening
Aida Sulcs
The Space to Draw

Kingston artist Aida Sulcs will be showing a series of four drawings in our community arts space, UNIT 115. On Friday, 4 April, join us for a gathering at the KAC office at the Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning from 6-7 pm. Aida will be in attendance and will offer a 10-minute performance.

About Aida Sulcs:

Aida uses art as a tool for managing their existence: for learning about herself and the world around her and as a language for expression. Art is a way to react, witness, adapt and learn.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Aida uses drawing, painting, photography, and performance to record experiences, to contemplate, and give shape to emotions and thoughts through forms which integrate real and imaginary states.

She often begins drawing with her non-dominant hand, and eyes closed. The resulting sketches cross-pollinate with other disciplines. One medium influences another, and so she moves
back and forth between them.

Presently she is focusing on pre-verbal expression inspired by the intuitive mark making she has observed in children. She sometimes strives for the untrained, uninhibited mark which can convey the primal voice of its maker.
