“Most people ignore most poetry because most poetry ignores most people”- Adrian Mitchell
Poetry can sometimes be a bit boring, can’t it? How do you write poems that don’t ignore people? Rowan will share tips and skills on how to find topics that strike a chord with others, while still staying true to who you are.
Whether you’ve never written a poem in your life, or you’ve been writing it since the day you could hold a crayon, all are welcome to this free session.
Rowan McCabe is a poet and performer from Newcastle upon Tyne. Aware that poetry isn’t a real job, he decided to create his own profession and is now the world’s first Door-to-Door Poet. The project has been featured in the Guardian, on BBC Breakfast and was named ‘Best of Today’ on Radio 4. His one person show about everything that has happened to him so far comes to Northern Stage on the 1st and 2nd of May - you can book tickets for that here: https://www.northernstage.co.uk/Event/door-to-door-poetry
