The Knott family home was a place of learning, music, and poetry. Not only did she homeschool her children, her journal recounts the family musicales held weekly in the parlor. The Summer Poetry Workshops carry on this tradition. Full of creative activities, the workshops help young people refine writing skills, read and evaluate poetry by respected authors, and find their own voice as a poet. Participants share their work with family and friends during an evening poetry reading that includes a well-known local poet. The cost is $55 for members or $70 for nonmembers, and enrollment is limited. Pre- and post-workshop supervision is available for a small additional fee. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
