An award-winning stand-up show about a straight guy who fell in love with another man
"The monologue is outrageously funny, but also stunningly personal" (Hanna Syrjälä, HS, 29.8.2013).
How would you feel if your partner came out to you as transgender? This happened to Finnish writer and comedian Juuso Kekkonen, who had always thought of himself as straight but suddenly found himself in a relationship with a man. Instead of breaking up, Juuso stayed together with his partner and created a stand-up show out of the experience. And so "Queer Homo" was born.
Kekkonen's autobiographical tale about love, polyamory, BDSM and finding happiness has delighted thousands of people in Finland since its premiere in 2012. Ranging from teenage traumas to transgender issues, and from gorilla sex to the depths of the human mind, Kekkonen's show takes the audience on a mind-bending trip from the Big Bang all the way to the end of the universe.
The show at Korjaamo is an abridged version of the original Finnish show. The abridged version was created for Brighton Fringe Festival, where Kekkonen is performing in May 2018.
