This year July 21st from 10am-2pm we will host our 3rd Annual "YOU" Matter Youth Rally. To bring you up to speed, this event was brought about in 2016 because of the shootings across the nations and people started rallying around these events. So, in the mist of summer camp, my kids asked me why haven't anyone asked them how they feel and I answered, "I'm not sure why you wouldn't be included." From that point on I immediately set up an event on Facebook called, "You Matter Youth Rally" and asked people to jump in. Well, I got what I asked for because in July of 2016 a host of non profits for youth set up tables and 8 police officers including 4 from Fort Lauderdale, 2 from Lauderhill, and 2 from Lauderdale Lakes hit the stage and had dialogue with 14 teens that were brave enough to have those conversations. This event had over 300 people in attendance. Now, this is just dialogue with the youth.

We did the same thing last year and this time Fire Rescue wanted to play a part as well, and when they came, organizations from Miami came and then Children Services Council jumped on board. We had over 300 people in attendance and we had a short 100 youth march by Anna Henry of Value my Vision, from Carter Park in observance to stopping the territorial gang violence with our youth. This year I want to go even bigger and I would love to use a facility that has rooms for workshops dealing with Teen Leadership, Student Gov't, Civic Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Personal Development, etc. The Rally's the main course is the dialogue between the Officers and the youth. 2016 there were 14 teens on stage but there were more than 100 in the audience and there were approx 200 youth last year.

If you would like to be a vendor this year please let me know as I am starting early and want this event to be HUGE success.
