Taking Action for Immigrant Youth in Connecticut!
Out of the issues that dominated the headlines of the last presidential election, one indisputably important and hotly contested topic was immigration reform. Now more than ever, we find ourselves in a political and historical moment that is ripe for change.
On April 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, join a panel of Connecticut legislators for dinner and a conversation with Yale and New Haven high school students and community residents to learn how issues of immigration reform are handled within the halls of Hartford's Legislative Office Building, and how groups like Connecticut Students for a Dream (C4D) advocate for change. Learn about the work that C4D and CT legislators have put into HB5031, a law that is waiting to be drawn up for a vote within the CT legislature that could prove to be an important step in equalizing access to higher education for immigrant youth.
