Wow! We have managed to secure the critically acclaimed actor Ian Pirie to lead a day-long workshop which will give you the tips and tricks of working in front of the camera and also on stage. The different techniques needed for both Theatre and Film acting and audition preparation. Ian is a leading actor in his field and has enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years. Launching his career in the critically acclaimed, West End Revival of Jesus Christ Superstar in London, he continued in musicals such as Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera and Notre Dame De Paris playing Quasimodo. He moved into straight theatre when he was offered a role in Edward Halls Macbeth starring Sean Bean. More theatre roles followed including The Warden in ‘The Postman Always Rings Twice’ starring Val Kilmer, two seasons at the RSC and a lead role in The National Theatre Of Scotland’s multi award-winning ‘Black Watch’. Ian has concentrated on TV and film in the last few years, with supporting roles in ‘World Without End’, ‘I am Soldier’, ‘Hummingbird’ and ‘Die Another Day’. He played the lead role in the indie gangster flick ‘Who Needs Enemies”. Ian was a regular in Seasons 1,2 and 3 of ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ playing Captain Dragonetti. In 2015 Terence Davies ‘Sunset Song’ was released to huge critical acclaim in which Ian plays the part of Chae Strachan, alongside Peter Mullan and Agness Deyn. He has also filmed Tommy’s Honour, directed by Jason Connery which had its release in 2016. Ian has just finished filming ‘Ripper Street’ for Amazon Prime. If that’s not enough, he has four releases about to come out… ‘Endeavour’ for ITV, ‘The Terror’ on AMC, indie film ‘Winter Ridge’ and feature film ‘Calibre’ with Jack Lowden.

Ian will be joined by his wife and established actress and acting coach , Victoria Donovan, who has worked extensively for the BBC, ITV, CH4, CH5 and various independent production companies but is best remembered for her role as Eggletina in ‘The Borrowers’ for the BBC. She has recently been the main acting coach on feature film ‘Marrowbone’, due for 2018 release.
