Join us for a fascinating evening in the Bradley Theatre with Jelani Cobb, the Ira A. Lipman Professor of Journalism at Columbia Journalism School, a staff writer at The New Yorker and a leading voice on the state of race relations in today’s America.

Cobb is the author of “The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress” and “To the Break of Dawn: A Freestyle on the Hip Hop Aesthetic.”

His appearance is part of Lakeland University Community Book Read, an opportunity for the greater community to come together with Lakeland students, faculty and staff and discuss good books and powerful stories.

This event is free and open to everyone.

Learn more about Cobb and this year’s book visit Lakeland.edu.bookread.

The Community Book Read is generously supported by the Kohler Foundation, Inc. and the Zieve Foundation.

Lakeland students will earn a convocation credit for attending this talk.
