You will be introduced to skill building techniques as you explore and develop the alphabet in the beautiful copperplate lettering style. Learn how to mix a tried and true ink recipe, how to use stick ink, line your own guide sheets, experiment with color, and best of all begin to write beautifully using the pointed pen! $40 registration cost. Copperplate, a beautiful lettering style, sometimes known as English Roundhand, was perfected by European penmen during the 17th and 18th centuries. Copperplate lettering differs from other types of calligraphic lettering because this lettering is written with a pointed flexible nib. Learn the basic letter forms to build the alphabet in this elegant lettering style. Explore numerous uses for this lettering hand, and, learn how to letter in color media popular with the modern-day calligrapher.
