Intimacy in Community: Tools for Creating a New Culture
Ecovillagers Alliance is opening our Spring 2018 retreat to anyone looking to build community and to learn interpersonal skills that we all need to do it!
DETAILS AND REGISTRATION:
New Culture is an experience of examining every aspect of our existing culture and experimenting to find out how to create a world based on love and freedom rather than fear and violence. It is about creating sustainable, rich, intimate personal relationships based on transparency, delight, freedom, and community—and a sustainable world to enjoy them in.
We particularly recognize that personal growth and positive social change are inseparably intertwined. Some of the areas we focus on include:
* developing healthy boundaries
* conflict resolution skills
* alternative models of family, community and “tribe”
* improving communication across gender, ethnic, and racial lines
* acceptance of neurodiversity and diverse mental experiences
* freedom in sexual and loving connections
On this weekend together, we'll co-create heartful workshops and group connection time. We will also introduce ZEGG Forum, a powerful intimacy building process where a community can create and deepen understanding with each other by witnessing and sharing what is alive in our hearts as well as what is under the surface. By opening a compassionate space where we can appreciate each perspective without taking it on as “truth”, ZEGG Forum helps groups transcend conflict and develop the deep listening skills that sustain and nurture our relationships and our selves.
There will be an special add-on Sunday night and Monday morning where people interested in building leadership capacities can debrief the experience of the weekend and receive professional guidance on what it takes to bring New Culture skills, exercises, values, and concepts into our communities.
Planned workshops include:
Authentic Relating Games: A quick, fun, easy way to meet lots of people, create deeper one-on-one connections, and explore opening up to each other.
Relationships Without Drama: Exploring how we come to a place of power and choice in how our lives and relationships unfold.
Finding the Sweet Spot: A practice of developing healthy boundaries: learning to love and respect our hell yes and our strong no, receiving yeses and no’s from others with grace, negotiating until we find the sweet spot where we are giving exactly what our partner wants to receive.
Conscious Dance: Exploring our relationship with our bodies, how we move through the world and our physical connections with each other.
Communication Superpowers for Lasting Relationships: Learn and practice concrete skills for resilient relationships such as managing challenging emotions, turning judgments to curiosity, and communicating difficult feedback.
Evening Snuggle Party: Connecting with non-sexual touch is a great way to deepen our sense of intimacy and trust with each other.
ZEGG Forum: See above.
