April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to honor youth impacted by deployment. On April 13th, Purple Up! Day, Team Langley will wear purple (the color that symbolizes all branches of the military as the combination of Air Force blue, Army green, Coast Guard blue, Marine red and Navy blue) to show your support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.
According to the most recent poll from 2015, there are roughly 1.7 million “total-force” dependent children worldwide. These resilient children endure frequent moves, parental deployments, life transitions and learning to reintegrate when mom or dad comes home. In many ways, children of service members serve right alongside mom or dad.
