The Arc of St. Lucie County is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our Annual Gene Lofton Walkathon on April 14, 2018, which will be open to the community. All proceeds from the event will help fund important services and supports for our adults and children with disabilities.
The walkathon is close to the hearts of many in our organization because it is in memory of a man named Gene Lofton who spent many years raising awareness and funds for our organization. Gene Lofton was not just a man that raised money for The Arc, but also a man with a disability himself. He recognized that despite his disability and the difficult times he faced, he could be an encouragement to those around him. The Arc of St. Lucie County wants to remember his dedication and strength and the years he spent supporting our organization.
Come on down to support our cause! Take part in the walk alongside your fellow community members, maybe win a prize! Take advantage of the various food, fun, and entertainment options on-site, to say nothing of the raffle items to be included (ranging from gift certificates at local restaurants to tickets for Walt Disney World)!
