Where were we ?
Where are we ?
Where are we going ?

An urgent call for people who want to work.
Sharing practical strategies on changing worlds.
Bring your questions, your ideas and your plans so we can advance.

As a revolutionary artist (emcee, producer,dj) and pedagogue from the South Bronx by way of Brooklyn, spiritchild uses the arts to cultivate a cultural revolution throughout the world.
As a solo artist, since 1992 and as the rhythmic poet of hip hop fusion band Mental Notes , since 1999, spiritchild uses music to open conversations and inspire action on environmental and social justice.
Staying in tune with and contributing to the pulse of young people’s musical and social heartbeat is at the core of this artist’s life work. spiritchild has more than 20 years of experience in developing and leading workshops and programs on hip hop pedagogy, songwriting and artist development for homeless youth, youth offenders and young emerging artists.
During this community meeting spiritchild will share concrete projects and examples such as a the beyond beats and bars project, a yearlong project for youth on Rikers Island (largest prison colony in the world) through the power of hip hop culture with a sister project for youth detention facilities in Belgium.

Powered by Urban Art Beat, Commusaic and a new black arts movement.

The event will be held in English. Translation to Dutch and French will be provided by request of the participants.
