Fair Play with Hannah Wydeven and the Shrieking Harpies
FairPlay MN is an organization based in Minneapolis, MN that works to create equitable space for women-trans-femme-nonbinary improvisers on our stages. Part of their work is to help improv communities prevent problematic behavior that targets WTFNB performers by providing trainings and workshops around building safe improv environments that nurture all performers.
This 2-hour workshop is an opportunity to learn a common vocabulary for improv teachers, students, directors, producers and performers can use to build safer spaces on and off stage. In this workshop you will learn about setting physical and content boundaries, how to address issues that arise, as well as how to reinforce positive behaviors and empower each other. We will discuss some of the bigger issues surrounding our improv community and what role we can play as individuals to make the change we want to see.
Please Note: This class is for currently active improvisation teachers, directors, and community leaders.
