Why a Character Workshop?
1. While “Good Works” do not save us, we are called to do “Good Works!”
Matthew 5:16 ESV In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Ephesians 2:10 ESV For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
James 2:26 ESV For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
Hebrews 13:16 ESV Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Galatians 6:9 ESV And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Titus 1:16 ESV They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
Titus 2:14 ESV Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
2. How will this Character Workshop equip us for “Good Works?”
A. It will give you “Character Clarity” to define 40 Character Assets and 40 Character Liabilities.
B. It will teach you to practice “Character Praxis” for lifelong Character maintenance.
C. It will equip you to grow Character Assets and to shrink Character Liabilities.
D. It will empower you to transfer Character Assets to those you love of the next generation.
Has anything like this ever happened in your days or in the days of your ancestors?
Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation. (Joel 1: 2b-3, NIV)
