Have you been trying to figure out how to better pose family, friends, or clients in your photos? Whether you are just dabbling in photos of family and friends or whether you are hoping to take professional portraits of people, bringing out authentic connection and emotion is vital to your skills as a photographer. This workshop will use two groups of models to practice what it would be like to pose a couple or a family with children. Students will begin class with a discussion and review of good portrait posing composition rules. We will brainstorm together what would be some good classic poses and how to appropriately direct our models into those poses. Then students will meet the models and we will go outside (weather permitting) for the students to take turns posing the group. This will essentially be a mock photoshoot, allowing each student a chance to ask questions and practice posing people. Students will be asked to email 5-10 of their best images to me as a thank you to models who volunteered to pose for the workshop.
