This year’s Young Artists Summer Camp theme is Nature! Each day we will have a different set of fun projects that will revolve around a more specific theme within the larger theme of nature. Within this summer camp, young artists will explore their curiosities by creating artwork that also teaches about science and nature! This interdisciplinary approach to teaching and creating artwork fosters the growth and exploration of many different types of learners! Children will be able to participate in hands-on learning and creating in several individual and group projects per day. You may choose to sign up your child for individual days or for the whole week (5 days).
Today we are focusing on Listening to Nature. On this final day of our week long day camp, we will make connections between what we hear and what we create. Children will be able to make connections between their senses in a fun and challenging way! During this three hour session, we will work on multiple activities. We will create outdoor drawing/painting with musical brushes and pencils and will also listen to different noises from nature (such as thunderstorms, wind, ocean, etc.) that will influence abstract paintings! The children will learn about how the visual arts are affected by our senses and how we can use art to communicate and express our experience as human beings.
