"The work wants to be made, and it wants to be made by you." - Elizabeth Gilbert
Whether you're writing a play, a screenplay, or a novel, the hardest part is just getting started. The next hardest part is continuing. Distractions, uncertainty, not knowing what you enjoy writing, fear of failure, all these things contribute to that big lumpy thing we call writer's block. How do you break past that? How do you make the work you want to make?
Over 6 weeks, this workshop will give you practical tools, techniques and exercises to kickstart your playwriting practice. Each week you'll come away with new material to work on, and you'll also get the opportunity to examine the masters of playwriting and dissect their work. There will also be time to share things that you've written, things that have inspired you, and receive practical feedback and critique from everyone else. At the end of the course, you'll be able to share the work you've created, no matter how far along it is.
The skills and insights you'll gain from this workshop will also help you with any other form of creative writing, be it novels, essays or screenplays!
This workshop will be lead in the English language. it is designed for 18+ years old.
