Among his many book publications, Muhammad: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press, 2011) is particularly notable for its selection or the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Bridging Cultures Muslim Journeys Bookshelf. His most recent book, Misquoting Muhammad: The Challenges and Choices of Interpreting the Prophet’s Legacy (Oneworld, 2014), was named one of the top books on religion in 2014 by the Independent.

His talk will consist of explaining the science of Hadith (prophetic tradition), including its history, methodology, and significance and drawing upon several Prophetic traditions to give life advice relevant to college students. This will demonstrate in concrete terms the religious and spiritual nourishment offered by the Hadith.
