Lafayette Consolidated Government’s (LCG) Revenue Evaluation/Finance Liaison Committee will host a Summit to solicit recommendations and suggestions regarding revenues and taxes for Lafayette Parish. The event will be held this Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the LITE Center, located at 537 Cajundome Blvd. in Lafayette. The public is encouraged to attend and offer feedback and input on the parish’s current and future tax status and revenue situation.
The committee is led by Council Member Jay Castille, joined by Council Chairman Kevin Naquin, Council Member Kenneth Boudreaux and Council Vice-Chairman Bruce Conque, and is representative of two predominantly parish council districts and two districts that are either predominantly or 100% City of Lafayette residents. The Committee has been evaluating revenues, millages, subsidies, expenses and the immediate needs of the parish.
The committee has compiled the facts on the subject and has offered several presentations which can be found at http://www.lafayettela.gov/Council/SiteAssets/Files/Revenue-Evaluations-Committee-Presentation-03122018.pdf. Given that the “Revenue Presentation” is being made available for review, the committee is requesting that attendees come prepared to solely offer suggestions and/or recommendations on Lafayette Parish revenues and where we go from here.
The summit will bring together all entities on the matter to provide recommendations and suggestions.
