We are looking for a group of advocates and partners that will advance the development of a Flagler Rail Trail. The "Friends of the Flagler Rail Trail" will help advance the conversation around why urban biking and walking trails are important for our communities and support the need for a future Flagler Rail Trail.
The Flagler Rail Trail could potentially be built along the existing Florida East Coast Railway, where the new BrightLine service will be running. The Flagler Rail corridor is a critical component of South Florida's transportation system. The trail would not only connect multiple neighborhoods, such as Little Haiti and El Portal to Downtown, but it would also help to create a trail loop in South Florida that connect with other similar facilities.
We are hosting the first "Friends" meeting on April 25th, 2018 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. We will be looking to create an identity for the group and a vision and goals for members to help advance. If you are interested, please RSVP below:
