Do you know your STI/HIV status? Take control over your sexual health and get tested!
Get Yourself Tested (GYT) is a national movement to encourage young people to get tested and treated, as needed, for STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and HIV. Student Health Services is there to collect urine samples to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea, and Vermont Cares provides private and confidential rapid HIV tests. Sexually active young people account for 10 million new STIs occurring in the U.S. each year, and most don’t know they are infected. Clinicians and sexuality educators will be available to answer your questions about STIs, treatment, prevention, and all things sex. We will debut a new video about STI testing at UVM, a new condom/lubricant campaign “Choose your own sexual adventure,” have a prize wheel, snacks, and more!
*Note: For best results, do not pee within 1 hour of taking the urine test, and tests do not reflect any transmission within the last 2 weeks*
