Locality is excited to once again welcome Art on the Spectrum opening Sunday, April 8. Art on the Spectrum features works by current and former students of NHS Schools in East Freedom and Altoona, PA.
NHS Schools – East Freedom and NHS Schools - Altoona provide educational programming to students ages 5 – 21 within full-time autistic support and emotional support classrooms. A low student-to-staff ratio is maintained at all times to maximize learning. Applied Behavior Analysis, individualized programming, and outstanding speech therapy services make our autism program unique. Cognitive behavior interventions and therapeutic instruction, guided by a master’s level Behavior Shaping Specialist, enhance our emotional support program. The emotional support program improves students’ self-esteem and self-regulation skills so they can make healthy life choices while they continue to meet academic goals. The ultimate goal of our programs is to help students achieve behavioral and academic milestones in order to transition to a less restrictive environment within their home school district.
It is our privilege to bring the work of these dynamic artists to this one-of-a-kind exhibition.
Join us Sunday, April 8 at from 4-6pm. for an opening reception with live music from Zillion Dollar Combo.
