Ever wondered what it takes to become a writer? All you need is an interest in the written word and some time to devote to it. Start your own writing journey in this creative writing workshop lead by Scottish author, Catriona Child.

Described in 2012 by the Edinburgh Evening News as ‘one of the brightest prospects among a thriving breed of fresh Scottish writing talent,’ Catriona Child is an Edinburgh-based writer.

She has a degree in English and an MA with distinction in Creative Writing. Her first novel Trackman was published in 2012 and her second, Swim Until You Can’t See Land (which is partly set in Kinross) in 2014.

She won the Sunday Herald Blog competition in 2007; was shortlisted for the National Library of Scotland and the ‘Scotsman‘ Crime Short Story Competition in 2008; and has been published in the Scottish Book Trust Family Legends Anthology and the magazine Northwords Now.

She currently lives just outside Edinburgh with her husband and two young children, and is working on a third novel.
