Course #1: “Radiation Safety Certification – Refresher” 2.0 CEUs
Course Description: The use of radiography for medical diagnosis is a key component to the oral health professional. Although the dental practice exposes patients to some of the lowest amounts of medical radiation, it is important to stay current on the safety and best practices to protect the patient and the provider. This course will review the science and safety of radiology in accordance to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. This course will also provide you with the most current policies and procedures of radiation exposure and practice, and proper disclaimer information to post in the healthcare setting.
Upon Completion of this course, participants will:
 - Understand radiation science
 - Review X-ray imaging techniques and safe practices
 - Know how to properly maintain a quality assurance (QA) program, safety plans, and documentation
 - Review regulations and policies per the guidelines set by the PA DEP

Course #2: “Oral Pathology Review” 1.0 CEU
Course Description: As oral healthcare providers, it is our responsibility to be up to date on common oral
pathologies, standard of care and treatment. This course will review many common themes of oral
pathology seen in practice, how to identify them, and best treatment practices that can be implemented
in the standard of care for your facility.
Upon Completion of this course, participants will:
- Identify Oral Cancer using white light and Velscope
- Identify and understand best treatment practices for oral pathologies, such as dry mouth, ulcers,
hyperplasia, mucositis, thrush, pemphigus, tissue trauma, etc.

Course #3: “Is This Going To Hurt? Overcoming Clinical Challenges in the
Administration of Local Anesthesia” 3 CEUs
Course Description: This course will offer “pearls” that can be utilized for the administration of local anesthesia. Participants will become well versed on the selection of agents that will be most effective for each individual patient. Case studies will be reviewed that focus on the adult patient with special needs, the cardiovascular patient, the pediatric patient, the pregnant/nursing mom, the patient with respiratory complications, and the fearful patients and difficult to anesthetize patients. Come prepared to leave with an arsenal of information that will equip you with the tools and information needed to ensure your patient is pain free during dental procedures.
