Explorations in Nature is a unique 8 week art program for children ages 3-8 and their accompanied adults that used the visual arts to develop deeper connections between children and their experience of the natural world. This free program for the community was made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) and CRSP: Cooperative Resources and Services Project in cooperation of the USTU (Urban Soil Tierra Urbana Housing Co-op) and the BVCLT (Beverly Vermont Community Land Trust). Led by DCA Grantee, Artist-in-Residence, Sylvette Frazier; classes featured emphasis on creating art in an eco-conscious format, culminating with a public exhibition, children’s exhibition and collaborative nature weave. The public closing of Explorations in Nature will take place in the courtyard of the Los Angeles Eco-Village on Saturday morning, December 16, 2017 from 10am to Noon. All ages welcome!
