Outspoken is back for another evening of spoken word performance. We have a vibrant mix this time around...
JIM HIGO - Jim is a poetry slam winner, a regular performer on the literary/poetry/variety circuit and has been commissioned by the BBC. He has written and performed several one man shows including the critically acclaimed “That’s Not How You Spell Pedantic” which received 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival. He's also performed at the Ilkley Literary Festival, Buxton Festival, Bridlington Poetry Festival, Balham Fringe and York Literary Festival. Jim co-hosts Away With Words - the longest running spoken word night in Hull.
LENCE - A hip hop and grime artist who recently featured on a BBC Radio Leeds Introducing live session. Lence also performs at spoken word events across Yorkshire, merging poetry and rap and taking inspiration from society and his personal life.
KIMMIKHO - A poet who started her spoken word journey in 2015, performing for the BBC Radio 1Xtra Words First competition. Kim likes to share her love of words through other forms of creativity, mainly with some rawsome desserts in her left hand (through her culinary project The Happy Caterpillar) and a pen in her right.
MIKE SOUTHWELL - One of the most prolific poets on the Leeds spoken word scene, Mike has performed at many slams and events across the city - including at Outspoken.
