Outspoken is back 2nd May for another evening of spoken word.

CAROLINE WILKINSON – After taking initial steps into creative writing six years ago at a Headingley writers’ group, Caroline has since completed a Masters Degree in Creative Writing at York St John University, which has allowed her to experiment with and deepen her love for poetry. She’s since performed at Headingley Literature Festival and various local poetry events. Caroline launched her poetry website early last year and has recently had her poem ‘Smog’ published in Leeds Trinity University’s Portmanteau pamphlet edition.

DALE PRUDENT – Dale focusses his prose on the injustices and annoyances that plague his life, targeting the instigators via the medium of rant, haiku and more rant.

CHARLOTTE WETTON – Charlotte is a poet based in West Yorkshire. Her first pamphlet ‘I Refuse to Turn into a Hat-Stand’ won the Michael Marks Awards 2017, following a spoken word album, Body Politic. She has been published in Poetry Wales, Staple and Stand, regularly performs across the North, and occasionally runs workshops.

JOE WILLIAMS – Joe is a former starving musician who transformed into a starving writer and poet in 2015, entirely by mistake. He lives in Leeds and appears regularly at events in Yorkshire and beyond. He has been published in numerous anthologies and magazines online and in print. In 2017 he won the prestigious Open Mic Competition at Ilkley Literature Festival and had his debut poetry pamphlet ‘Killing the Piano’ published by Half Moon Books.
