Get Directions

The School of Theatre’s Dance program will present a performance great for the whole family from Paul Fleischman's poetry collection A Joyful Noise with accompanying music of composer Bill Montgomery. The Caldecott award-winning book of whimsical words brings to life the squeaking, buzzing, whirligig world of the insect brethren with whom we share the planet. Rejoice with the Grasshoppers and Fireflies, Honeybees and Beetles, Crickets! (Seriously, you don't want to get the Digger Wasps mad.)

The Physical Theatre portion will feature faculty and student collaborations toward the creation the new work Dream Logos. Nick Erickson, head of the physical theatre program at the School of Theatre, teams up with Jesse Allison, Experimental Music &
Digital Media and the LSU School of Music to workshop initial ideas for a summer show which will be toured to France and the United Kingdom. The show will feature a loose narrative filled with staged dreams. The remainder of the evening will be a collection of student driven creations from a dynamic physical theatre perspective.
