Learn everything you need to know about using and maintaining a healthy whole grain sourdough starter. The discussion will give you the knowledge and confidence to get peak performance from your starter and then use it to bake pizzas, flatbreads, and rustic loaves at home. We will combine fresh milled flour and starter to bake flavorful crisp sourdough crackers in the wood fired brick oven.
Expect a relaxed, hands-on learning environment, at our forest farm’s open-air pavilion. A light seasonal lunch of jam, cheese, kraut, fresh flat bread and wine/brew is included. Participants go home with their own starter and a sample of fresh milled flour.
