Yoga for ALL ABILITIES, AGES, AND ANY BODY
Build a Yoga practice One-to-one with your teacher, in a group setting.
Each student is taught each posture individually with their teacher, and moves through the sequence at their pace and ability. Students of all levels practice alongside each other. Through repetition the sequence is embedded in the students mind and body, so instead of the teacher being at the front calling out the movements the teacher can be assisting and adjusting for students at all times.
When Mysore Shala is open, the student can come and practice any time, and for as long as they like. The student arrives at a time to suit their schedule, sets down their mat and starts practicing the sequence and postures they've been taught. The teacher moves around the room teaching each student individually, giving adjustments and new postures where necessary.
This style of teaching is great for complete beginners and seasoned Ashtangi's alike, simply because you get the individual focus of the teacher to guide you through each posture whilst learning them, and it allows you to learn at your own pace. Mysore allows for personal, individualised support at every session. This is the traditional method of learning Yoga.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The studio opens at 7am, and teaching starts at 7.15am, so students can arrive anytime from 7am and start practicing, we will be teaching from 7.15am until 9am, then there will be until 9.15am to finish up your practice and rest in Savasana. The timing is still up for debate, and i'm interested to hear if a 6am/7am/8am start would suit you best. The slot at the moment will run for 2 hrs, but will increase to 3 when more people come. You just attend for the amount of time it takes to do your practice, any time during the scheduled hours.
Mysore classes are £40 for a block of 4 (to be used in succession), or £12 drop in. The price is an indication of the direct support you will get in your personal practice, but if for some reason this is unattainable for you then please get in touch, we always do our utmost to make Yoga available to those who are serious about learning.
