From Saturday, May 26, 2018, to Tuesday, July 24, 2018, the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling, WV will have the privilege to host the Heinz History Center of Pittsburgh's traveling exhibition, "We Can Do It! WWII."

The 500-sq. ft. exhibit explores Western Pennsylvania’s incredible impact on the home, industrial, and battlefronts during World War II and includes artifacts, previously unseen photographs, and large museum panels highlighting Western Pa.’s contributions to WWII, as well as lifelike museum figures of local WWII heroes (General George C. Marshall, Tuskegee Airman Lt. Carl J. Woods, Iwo Jima hero Sgt. Michael Strank, The Westinghouse Company-inspired Rosie the Riveter). The exhibit will be supplemented with Wheeling related WWII-era artifacts, both from the collections of the Ohio County Public Library, and other local organizations and individuals. A variety of WWII related programs will also take place throughout the duration of the exhibit.

The Ohio County Public Library was one of fifteen organizations -- and the only site in West Virginia -- selected to host the exhibit over a three year period. The exhibit is provided free of charge to members of the History Center Affiliates Program, a collection of more than 125 historical organizations throughout the region.

The exhibit will be open to the public during all open library hours.
