Robin Devine, RMT/CLT, will be presenting this lecture at Lymph Balance Centre in SE Calgary to help share this vital information to therapists and practitioners alike.

As Massage Therapists, we are given a very basic overview of the Lymphatic System during our years of training at college or university, and though we appreciate it’s many immunological properties, we don’t really work comprehensively with this part of the circulatory system. Understanding how, as therapists we impact the lymphatic system, can be essential in helping our clients boost their immune systems, and can prevent damaging certain clients already delicate balance.

Through this detailed lecture, learn how to understand what your client’s health history is telling you about what you cannot treat, specifically about their lymphatic system.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy/Manual Lymphatic Drainage is an extremely gentle, light and effective technique. Currently, in the City of Calgary, there are 13 Certified Lymphedema Therapists practicing MLD to treat lymphedema. With the Tom Baker Center, the many cases of surgical related edema, Chronic Venous Insufficiencies and general injuries, we are quite busy.. actually… too busy. The Calgary Ambulatory Lymphedema Service has a current wait time of over 8-10 months, and so does the Rehabilitation & Lymphedema Clinic. There is an increasingly high demand for qualified therapists in Calgary, as well as all over this province, and the entire country.

We implore all massage therapists, doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, dentists, surgeons, estheticians, osteopaths, pharmacists and any other health professional to come and learn. Come and see how you can become a GREAT referral source to help your clients rehabilitate, and maybe see how you could start seeing the many clients who are searching for Lymphatic care and expand your business. There are some great Lymphatic courses coming to Calgary all the time , and you could be there, learning how to become one of a small group of specialized therapists that are helping a growing number of Canadians.

This seminar is worth continuing educational units for massage therapists/practitioners with the RMTA and NHPC.
