Whether directly or indirectly, mental health issues affect all Canadians alive today. This is especially true with youth. According to the CMHA, a staggering 3.2 million people under the age of 18 are at heightened risk of developing major depressive episodes.
To help address these issues, MacGregor EMC, in collaboration with the Mental Health Initiative of the Evangelical Mennonite Conference are hosting a day-long workshop dedicated to talking about the history of mental health, about good self-care as well as caring for others with mental health issues, as well as talking particularly about caring for youth, with a particular eye being given to recognizing and addressing self-harm.
For more information, or to obtain a list of sessions, please visit www.macgregoremc.com/events.
No need to pre-register. Event cost is $20 with snacks and lunch provided.
*Note* Given the nature of the afternoon discussions on teenage self-harm, we ask that all attendees for these sessions be over the age of 18. We thank you for your understanding.
