Argentine artist Mauro Duek will be spending the month of April in Berlin, nishing his debut solo album. Best known as the lead singer of “Mejor Actor de Reparto”, a growing Argentine band that will be playing at SXSW in March, he aims to play live shows during his stay in the city. His solo project could be described as modern electronic pop with influences such as The Knife, la Monte Young, Os Mutantes, Charly Garcia, among others, from a latinoamerican perspective.
MIKE SPINE & BARBARA LUNA (Folk rock/USA,IT)
Mike Spine (Seattle, USA) and
(Milan, Italy) met in 2014 and they started performing as a folk rock duo with Mike on guitar and vocals and multi-instrumentalist Barbara on piano, guitar, violin and backing vocals. They successfully toured Europe and USA with over 100 concerts in the last few years.
They predominately perform original songs taken from Mike’s catalog of ten albums, depicting working class lives with insightful lyrics, which is drawn from his time working as an inner city teacher, musician and activist.
Mike and Barbara will be touring in support of two albums. Mike's 9th album titled “Don’t Let it Bring You Down”, which is receiving radio airplay and reviews throughout the continent, and “Forage and Glean”, a double album anthology containing the best of Mike’s songwriting and recordings from the last two decades.
