Gearing up for this year’s gardening season?
Before you buy your plants or prep your soil, join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County for our Spring Garden School. All Putnam residents are invited to attend this year’s program, Easy Solutions for Garden Problems. On April 21st, Cornell Cooperative Extension Educators and Master Gardener Volunteers will be at the Mahopac Library teaching six different workshops. These workshops are designed to equip gardeners of all levels with current, research-based information to deal with some of the most common garden problems in Putnam County. Participants will learn to how identify and manage pesky and beneficial insects, keep deer from ravaging their gardens, and how to select plants for their spaces including shady areas and near foundations. The day will also include steps to choosing the right vegetables for your garden amongst the plethora of options out there.
