Just in time for preservation month, the Caldwell Main Street Program will host an "Imagine the Possibilities Tour" in downtown to correspond with our Second Saturday event. The tour will showcase downtown properties as a way to engage potential investors, entrepreneurs, developers, realtors, residents and anyone else who has "imagined" themselves running a business, owning a building, or living downtown. Properties featured on the Downtowntx.org website will be open and accessible to the public to tour. Attendees can obtain additional information on each location.
Caldwell is the county seat of Burleson County and is located at the crossroads of two important state highways, Texas 21 (also known as the Presidential Corridor) and Texas 36. A 2015 traffic study estimates that close to 30,000 cars pass through Caldwell on these two highways each day. Caldwell is central to numerous major cities in Texas including Houston, Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio and is a short 22 miles from Bryan/College Station and Texas A&M University. Manufacturing and oil-related industries contribute to the economic vitality of the town with the courthouse square and downtown shopping area at its heart. It is the Kolache Capital of Texas and hosts the annual Kolache Festival and Burleson County Fair. Caldwell is a Nationally Accredited Main Street City with tax incentives and façade improvement grant opportunities.
