Yes! Its the Monday Band at 7pm each monday until the end of time. The Monday Band was formed to focus on playing improvised music in a large ensemble and draws its members from the large vibrant group of improvisers in town and passing through. The idea is to have a international band with a open constellation which connects the improvising scene in Copenhagen and performs every week. The band will play minimal compositions, improvising concepts and graphic scores composed and arranged by the members of the band. the band will have a flexible lineup each week but with a core group of artists consistently there. Copenhagen has long needed a place where a steady workshop band could experiment with improvising in a large ensemble and the Monday Club is the place to do it so welcome to THE MONDAY BAND
kl 20 Martin Küchen / Tollef Østvang the Duo!
Martin Küchen - sax
Tollef Østvang - drums
Hallelujah! we all remember the great Norwegian drummer Tollef Østvang from his fire breathing duo with Mars Williams last year. Now he is back, this time with another master player, the unique Martin Küchen who has carved out a special place for himself in scandinavian music. highly creative, very personal player!
not to be missed
kl 21 NILS DAVIDSEN KVINTET
Kasper Tranberg : trumpet
Ned Ferm : reeds
Jacob Anderskov : piano
Anders Mogensen : drums
Nils Davidsen : Bass and cello
-is performing the Nils Davidsen songbook.
Davidsen put together this lineup of heavyweight jazzcats from Copenhagen.
A bunch of virtousic brethren, that can execute the visions of the composer.
The kvintet plays original compositions, emerging from the borderland of jazztradition and avantgarde.
As a composer Davidsen has a unique voice, with a flair for deep melodies and spacey grooves.
kl 22 Jeppe Zeeberg Odd Occasion Orchestra.
Laura Toxværd - saxophone
Petter Hängsel - trombone
Jeppe Zeeberg - piano
Jeppe Skovbakke - bass
Anders Vestergaard - drums
Totally brand new music from composer-pianist Jeppe Zeeberg. On the odd occasion Zeeberg writes something that doesn't fit into any of his regular groups like Horse Orchestra, Amputated Double Trio Extravaganza and Dødens Garderobe. This is some of it - and he even assembled a killer group of musicians to perform it. This is only the third concert (ever) by this killer group, so it's still fresh. You actually don't wanna miss this.
kl 23 Ymse
Jonatan Uranes: ymse bass frekvenser
John Arne Rånes: ymse guitar frekvenser
everything is Ymse with these guys.. and what is Ymse? you will know when you see it.
both players are treasured performers at the club.
Rånes is a wonderful and powerful guitarist and Uranes is a force of nature!
