Coherence in Motion (Debra Clydesdale and Mark Taylor) trains practitioners to incorporate principles of human developmental movement into trauma healing work.
Embodied somatic movement is a vital tool for trauma resolution. Because the reflexes and movement patterns develop in utero and in the first year of life, they are largely sub-cognitive. Coherence In Motion is particularly helpful in working with pre and perinatal trauma, attachment disorders, and with global high intensity activation.
The courses are taught in studio settings and assume that you are comfortable with explorations moving in space, lying on the floor, and in chairs. Each module:
1. Presents a central aspect of developmental movement theory and embodiment
2. Offers practice working with movement from an SE perspective
3. Allows participants to recognize movement patterns and reflexes that emerge within sessions and track the autonomic nervous system response to those movements
